People often ask me what I love most about being a newborn photographer. It’s so hard to pick just one thing but I’m starting today’s post with one image that says it all:
Can you believe this little guy?!
I almost died when Baby W winked and smiled at me at the same time! I mean, I’ve captured baby smiles before but never a wink and a smile in the same moment! THIS is why I love being a newborn photographer. Not only do I love snuggling with my tiniest little clients (working with cute babies is a dream job in it of itself!) but I also love to capture them and their little personalities! I especially love it when they surprise me with a sweet little expression like this one. I was so excited I was to show his parents this image that I captured for them! It was definitely one of my best images from 2017.
On the day of this newborn session, April and Chase brought their little boy in with an afghan that April’s grandmother had made for the baby. I love incorporating heirlooms into my set-ups. We included it in the first few shots and I love how it complemented the rustic wood of the crate so well. April also requested an image of Baby W with his stuffed bear. It was pretty big compared to him so we got a lot of laughs out of trying to place it perfectly with the little guy. We certainly got a kick out of it and joked about being the cause of Baby W’s future aversion to stuffed bears, ha! Good times!
I just love how down to earth my clients are and how we can work together to create memorable images of their babies.
I sound like a big mush today but I just love what I do and am feeling so thankful for the wonderful clients I continue to be blessed with over and over again. Take a look at this session and you’ll see why it brings such a big smile to my face!
