This past spring I had the pleasure of meeting up with Kayla and her husband Barrett. Kayla found me thanks to a Google search and I’m delighted that she did because I have loved working with her sweet family for a series of three sessions: their maternity session, Fresh 48 at the hospital, and newborn session, too. What an honor it has been to capture this family during some of the very happiest seasons of their lives!
When Kayla first reached out, she was 19 weeks pregnant so it was the perfect time for us to connect and start planning for the time we would spend together capturing this amazing chapter in her and Barrett’s lives. I was so excited to get to know these two and work closely with them to create a wonderful experience that would produce tangible memories to re-live this season time and again.
TWIN MATERNITY PORTRAITS
For the first in their series of three sessions, I met up with Kayla and Barrett when Kayla was about 28 weeks pregnant. This was a little earlier than I usually do maternity sessions but it was because these two were expecting twins!! Imagine the excitement! Kayla and Barrett ended up choosing their session location based on my recommendations and I’m so glad because I had the opportunity to shoot at a location I’ve been wanting to shoot at for a long time. It was a bit of a drive but it was so worth it! This location is such a hidden gem – it has a gorgeous hanging oak tree covered in moss and to get there, you get to walk on a gorgeous dock and through grassy areas. It’s such a scenic and photogenic spot that has quickly become one of my favorite places to shoot.
I loved seeing Kayla’s bump and chatting with her and Barrett about their pregnancy and truly enjoyed creating these images for them and their unborn twins. I know that their babies will love seeing these images when they grow up and I was honored to capture them.
