I cannot think of any need in childhood as strong as the need for a father’s protection – Sigmund Freud
I couldn’t agree more, every child needs a strong father figure or dad in their lives.  When I was a child, I grew up with a father that worked hard to make sure we had everything that we needed.  Some of my fondest memories as a kid were obviously being with my family but being with my dad was always an adventure and having Father’s Day Pictures is something I can’t imagine not having.
My dad was an avid fisherman and we grew up going to the lake to go fishing.  To this day I am thankful for having a father that taught me how to fish, bait my own hook, and how to take it off the hook all by myself. Having two boys of my own, being able to do this helped me gain a greater connection with my boys.  My oldest son loves to go fishing and as crazy as it seems I can’t wait to hear him ask “Mom, can we go fishing?” so I can get up and go with him.  Thanks, Dad, for making it possible, for teaching me your ways and giving me something to forever cherish with my own boys and of course all the many other things you taught me.  This right here, this is what I cherish.
I am not sure if you recently saw my  Top 5 Mother and Baby First Looks | Houston Mommy and Me Photos blog post.  It was actually picked up by Huffington Post and the editor wrote her version of my post.  Such an honor.  So as Father’s Day approaches I thought it would fun to share a similar post in honor of the fathers I’ve worked with this past year, showing my top Father’s Day pictures.  Introducing my
Top 5 Dad and Baby First Looks | Father’s Day pictures
#1: Daddy’s First Kiss
#2: Daddy Bond
#3: Safe in Daddy’s Arms
#4: Daddy’s Angel Eyes
#5: Grandaddy’s First Sight
This one is a little different but it’s such a great photo of these two grandads, one from each side of the family, seeing their granddaughter for the first time. Â If you read the original blog about this birth story you might remember that they didn’t reveal the sex of the child to everyone beforehand. Â So this picture is of the grandfathers walking in for the the first time and seeing that it was a little girl. Â I just love how happy they are and how you can see the true emotion on their faces.
Thanks for spending a few minutes with me tonight and looking through my Top 5 Father’s Day pictures. If you are a dad, make sure to cherish those moments with your kiddos, they grow up too fast but like me, they will always have very fond memories of their childhood with you. Â Make sure to grab a camera of any sort and document those Father’s Day pictures. Â They fly by way too fast.
