Tracy first contacted us when she was 30 weeks pregnant inquiring about a maternity session. She and her husband live in town and were searching for a photographer that they felt offered exactly what they wanted. Even though they live in Houston, maternity and newborn sessions with a cake smash are what they decided on when they opted for the Collective Membership. We have loved having them in our studio in Katy for their first two sessions!
In-Studio Maternity Session in West Houston
Maternity sessions are typically scheduled for when moms are between 30 and 35 weeks. Often, our calendar is booked unless mom reaches out early in her second trimester. Luckily for Tracy, we had one available session before she got to the 35-week mark and were able to get her on the calendar. After discussing all the details of an in-studio session, Tracy opted for indoors because she would be able to get more variety. Indoor sessions allow for multiple wardrobe changes and backgrounds.

Signature sessions are all about taking care of you. We are moms. We know what stressors are involved in prepping for photos. We know how it feels to be pregnant, and have a newborn. Our goal is to take away as many of those stressors from you, so you can sit back and relax and not have to lift a finger. Signature sessions focus on all of those pain points: wardrobe for the entire family (in sizes S-XXL), hair and makeup for mom just before the session, in-person design and ordering so mom doesn’t have to stress over a huge online gallery, and never end up printing anything. Tracy opted for a Signature maternity session because she wanted something where she could just “show up” and everything would be taken care of for her.
Newborn Session for Houston Family
Tracy and her husband are such laid-back people. They were really open to the typical workflow for newborn sessions. The one request Tracy had was to include her wedding dress in some way during the newborn session. As we finished the unwrapped poses, we carefully placed her dress on the beanbag and laid Nora on top. We all held our breath while I captured a few images in hopes that she wouldn’t suddenly feel the need to go potty! Thankfully the dress stayed clean and we finished up the session with family portraits.
Looking into the 2024 Session Calendar
Tracy is one of the clients we have that is already on the calendar for 2024! Many of the 2024 sessions that are booked already are for Collective Members. That’s one of the best reasons to book a membership – your sessions are guaranteed as we start to book other sessions. We cannot wait to see Nora for her one-year session because we know she will have changed so much and documenting that milestone will be such a fun time!
