Allison and Patrick came back this past fall season for their second session with Lifetime of Clicks. Their first session was in a beautiful outdoor location in Richmond, Texas (see that post here) but this year they opted for an indoor studio session in Katy.
Family Session in the Studio
Many times you’ll see us sharing indoor family portraits as a part of a newborn studio session or a cake smash session in our studio. Allison wanted to take advantage of the benefits of an indoor session with her 2-year-old and 4-month-old boys for this year’s family portraits. Fall in Texas is quite unpredictable. On certain days it’ll feel like summer and others will be terribly cold and rainy. Booking an indoor studio session is one of the best ways to avoid inclement weather here in Katy. Allison came to the studio before the session for a wardrobe appointment. If you read about their last session on the blog you’ll remember she was hesitant to use the Client Closet out of fear we wouldn’t have something that matched her style. After finding outfits for the whole family in her first session she knew she would have no trouble this go-round. She tried on several dresses and ended up choosing one of the most popular dresses we have. This green maxi is one of almost 20 we offer in our studio wardrobe in different colors and sizes. We helped her coordinate a shirt for Patrick and something for both boys to wear as well. Don’t they just look so cute together in the studio?
Mixing Outdoor Portraits with Portraits from an Indoor Studio Session
Allison asked whether or not the portraits from their session outdoors would look good together with images from this session since the setting was different. As long as color palettes and finishing choices (like sizing and frames) are consistent, your images from an outdoor session and images from an indoor family session should look great together. During their in-person design and ordering appointment we looked at multiple gallery options to combine sessions or create a new gallery for this session. They ended up choosing to frame 4 pieces in the same frame as their gallery from last year and we installed them in their entry and hallway. Sometimes, mixing things up makes for the best outcomes! I’m so glad they chose to book a studio session. Who knows where we will go next year?
