The A Family found me thanks to a friend who works at a Wellness Center where I have a canvas display. To prep for our session I sent the A Family a few options for locations. I always love helping my family clients pick a location that is perfect for them because I want the images to complement their personalities and outfits. I ended up meeting up with this lovely family at a local park that had a rustic style to it. Just as I imagined, it ended up being ideal for them because it also had plenty of space for the little guy to go on a tricycle ride and also complemented the A Family’s outfits perfectly.
For the A Family session I brought along a couple of kid’s favorites: my antique wagon and tricycle. Little ones always love climbing up on these and they make for some adorable photos, too! I loved getting to know the A Family during my time with them, especially when I discovered that these images were going to make it all the way to NORWAY! How fun is that? The A family is actually from there and wanted to send over some images to their loved ones in their western wear, so of course we included a series in their cowboy hats and boots. It’s a Texas thing, after all!

We spent the first part of the session on this wooden porch and the little guy was in the best mood! I always love to get my “must-have” images right off the bat so that I can spend the rest of the session getting fun and creative images to complement the gallery. First up: the official family portrait of 2017:
Next: a few close-ups of the little man so all his relatives in Norway can see how big he is! What a cutie!

This father and son photo just makes my heart melt. Children grow up so fast so I love that they’ll have this image to look back on to remember how little their son was not too long ago.

I love taking a parents only photo during family sessions. Parents are rarely in front of the camera so I know that creating an image like this is so important. When their little guy get older I know he will love this image of his sweet parents!
Once we had gotten plenty of images in their first outfit, the A Family brought out their western gear and we had a lot of fun incorporating their cowboy hats and into some photos!
