We’ve had many families request photo sessions for twins; from maternity to newborn, and even to cake smashes – we’ve done it!
Maternity Portraits for Mommas of Multiples
When you’re pregnant with more than one little baby, your belly tends to get bigger and grow faster. You also start to get tired quicker and are more likely to deliver early. Typically, we schedule maternity sessions around the 30-35 week range, but mommas of multiples sometimes come in a little sooner. We always recommend booking your maternity session when you’re in your first or early second trimester to make sure we have the perfect date on the calendar for you.
Newborn Sessions for Twins
The biggest question we’ve gotten is: Do you have experience with twin newborns? The answer: YES! We have had quite a few newborn twins come into the studio over the years, and have even done an in-home session for twins. The next question people tend to ask is: Does a twin newborn session cost more than a singleton? The answer to that one is NO. While it is more work to work with two babies instead of one, we don’t charge more for it. You’ve got to pay double for everything else but there’s just no need for it here. Your session fee covers hair and makeup for you, wardrobe for the entire family from our Client Closet, and the full session time (plus a little extra time since we’re working with two babies). Twin Sitter Sessions
All babies are different – and that goes for twins, too! Sitter sessions are designed for babies who can sit on their own for a couple of minutes, and not all twins reach that milestone at the same time. But boy, oh boy, is it fun when they come in! We schedule twin sitter sessions when both twins can sit unassisted and by that point, they’ve usually learned to take things from each other; goodbye headbands!
Cake Smash Photos for Twins
If you thought a cake smash session for one baby was messy… you’ve obviously never seen a twin cake smash! These are so much fun and we typically see a TON of personality differences in these sessions.
