Sometimes, for various reasons, photo sessions have to be re-scheduled. Although not likely, sometimes even hurricanes can interrupt schedules.
Hurricane Harvey did just that for my scheduled maternity session with Samantha and Francisco. Our session at The Woodlands Waterway was re-scheduled twice but finally it proved to be a day that was certainly worth the wait.
Samantha and Francisco had picked the perfect place to capture this most special time. Other than phone conversations, we met for the first time at the walkway that led to the Koi pond. Our first few images were taken along the waterway.
The perfect weather and outside lighting made it possible to get some amazing shots. The Koi pond lined with green ivy provided a picturesque setting to show off mom’s precious baby bump.
Other shots were taken, some with natural golden sunlight as the backdrop. All of the surrounding beauty and happiness radiating from this wonderful expectant couple made for a very relaxing and calming session.
As we were leaving this memorable time together, I was able to explain the importance of capturing the birth of your child. The moments during this time will pass so quickly and if not caught, they will be at best a blur and special memories will be lost.
I am honored that after some thought, Samantha and Francisco have requested that I be there to welcome and capture the birth of their firstborn.
I love being able to capture these candid moments during sessions that happen between various poses. Such natural emotion that really showcases their personality and relationship.
If you’re wondering what to wear to a maternity session, you should take notes from Samantha and Francisco. I loved their simple classic outfits that won’t look dated, even 30+ years from now!
