Welcome Friends!

I’m your resident portrait photographer, unapologetic tomboy, unabashed reality TV lover (the cheesier the better!) and memory-capturing sidekick. I’m here because I believe that everything happens for a reason.

What to Wear for Family Portraits and One Year Milestone

Family Portraits under Mossy Oak TreesTrust is at the heart of what I do. That’s why referrals are so important. If you trust me to document your family, and then you share that, your family and friends have a reason to trust me, too. My studio assistant and her family have trusted me to do their family portraits for several years. Her cousin saw those images and reached out because she wanted someone she knew could be vouched for. I’m so glad she got in touch with me! We had a great session and I just loved getting to know this little guy, mom, and dad. I wanted to share their session with you and give you some insight into what to wear for family portraits and one-year milestones if you’ve got some coming up.

One Year Milestone Portraits Under the Mossy Oaks

Baby G is SUCH a cutie! He had the cutest grin and loved having his picture taken. He was nearing his first birthday, and also growing a couple of teeth at the same time (see him chewing his fingers?) but just hammed it up for the camera!

Wardrobe Worries | What to Wear to your Portrait Session

Mom knew exactly what she was looking for in terms of setting when she called me up. She had seen some of my work showcasing the beautiful mossy oak trees that the south is known for so with that in mind we selected a location together and got to work. One of her biggest concerns going into the whole process was what to wear. She told me that her closet consisted of almost all black, the same as dad’s and that she was worried about finding something that would work for them in our Client Closet. Clients are always welcome to bring clothing from home so we can look at it together at the wardrobe appointment and are encouraged to trust the process of trying on options from the Client Closet. Mom brought an option for each of them to the wardrobe appointment, just in case. After looking through our Client’s Closet and trying on several different options, she felt much better about it all. She ended up finding something for the whole family to wear and they all looked fantastic for their session. I can’t wait to have them back again as their family grows!

Client Review of this Family Portrait Session

Here’s mom’s review of her experience with us:

“I am so happy with my entire experience with LofC from start to finish. It’s an investment but one that is well worth it when you see the finished product on your wall. The photos and frames are so high quality and I did not have to lift a finger through the entire process. We used the client wardrobe for our family portraits even though I had anxiety about it not looking like my style or something I would normally wear. She really has something for everyone. The wardrobe appointment was fun. Kelly worked with us to get the location we wanted. I’m one of those people who put 5 holes in the wall before getting a picture hung straight lol so having her come do that part for us was a major plus!”
