Did you know that I am a board member of the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce? I love being a part of that organization and building relationships with members. I met my friend Matt several years ago through the Chamber and I photographed his family in a fall session in Katy. They decided to book a Senior Session for their oldest son, Tyler. Read on to get some ideas for what to wear for senior portraits in the Greater Houston area and see what he wore during his session.
Houston Area Senior Photos in a Suit
Tyler started the session with a suit jacket, slacks, and a button-down. He kept it a little casual by wearing his white Nikes instead of dress shoes, giving the first set of senior photos a bit of personal flair. We grabbed some really great images while he was in this outfit – just look at the sunlight coming in behind him in a few of these! If your senior likes to dress up sometimes, this is a perfect opportunity!
What to Wear in Senior Pictures to Show Your Style
We all know Tyler doesn’t wear a suit jacket every day. Does your senior? It’s not uncommon to see him well put together, though. He opted for jeans with a fun small-print button-down shirt for his second senior session outfit. When you and your senior are looking for your senior session wardrobe, adding different shirts is a great way to add variety. Be mindful of the print; large-scale prints can be distracting in photos, so opt for small-scale prints like this one. Then you can pair it with fun shoes like the white Nikes Tyler wore for his entire senior session.
Wearing College Gear in Your Senior Photos
Where is your senior going to school? Tyler is attending Baylor so we added his Baylor hoodie for one more look during the session. Adding in university t-shirts, jackets, or hats is a great way to show off where your senior will be going next year. Maybe your senior isn’t quite sure where they’re going yet – choose a casual outfit for the third look. Hoodies are an excellent choice for this (as long as it isn’t summer here in the Greater Houston area!) and can be paired with jeans for a comfortable option.
Whatever your senior chooses to wear for their portrait session should be an expression of who they are. If you have any questions about your senior’s wardrobe, just let us know!
